Role Overview
Heart of House Specialist (Stewarding) at Marriott International. This position supports vital hotel functions across multiple departments including kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry.
Role Purpose
Support hotel operations by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across departments. Prepare fresh clean linen and spotless dining ware for guests, operate and maintain cleaning equipment, and transport dishware and linens throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Preparation
- Prepare fresh clean linen for guest use.
- Prepare spotless dining ware for guest enjoyment.
- Support cleaning needs across multiple departments including kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools including dish washing machines, hand wash stations, linen washers, and dryers.
Transport and Logistics
- Transport dishware across the hotel.
- Transport linens across the hotel.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
Workplace Standards and Safety
- Create and maintain a safe workplace.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Uphold quality standards and adhere to quality expectations.
- Maintain professional uniform, personal appearance, and communications.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
Collaboration and Communication
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees and departments.
- Support team to reach common goals.
- Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
Additional Duties
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Reach overhead and below the knees.
- Bend, twist, pull, and stoop as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- No related work experience required.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
