Health& Safety Supervisor (NSP)

Role Overview

Health & Safety Supervisor (NSP) at Savola. This role is based in the UAE and reports to the Health, Safety & Environment team.

Role Purpose

Implement, monitor, and enforce Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards across all operations. Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, company requirements, and international standards. Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Policy Implementation

• Perform regular checks to ensure compliance with the SFC Golden Rules.
• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, standards, and programs across all operations.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, company requirements, and international standards.
• Support compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and company management systems.

Hazard Identification & Risk Management

• Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
• Monitor compliance with safe work procedures and site safety requirements.
• Conduct and review risk assessments for operational activities.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend effective control measures.
• Monitor critical safety controls and verify their effectiveness.

Permits, Controls & Safe Work Practices

• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees and contractors.
• Support the implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Working at Height, and Hot Work procedures.
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed within agreed timelines.

Incident Investigation & Analysis

• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, property damage, and environmental incidents.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and develop Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Maintain incident investigation records and track action closure.
• Analyze incident trends and recommend improvement initiatives.

Training & Culture

• Conduct HSE induction training for employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and awareness programs.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and behavioral safety initiatives.
• Support departmental safety committees and safety improvement projects.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

• Coordinate emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and response activities.
• Ensure emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eyewash stations, and alarms are maintained and functional.
• Participate in emergency response planning and crisis management activities.

Environmental Management

• Monitor waste segregation, disposal, recycling, and environmental compliance activities.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives and resource conservation programs.
• Conduct environmental inspections and report findings.

Audits & Inspections

• Conduct internal HSE inspections and audits.
• Support external audits, customer audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Monitor closure of audit findings and corrective actions.

Contractor Management

• Conduct contractor safety inductions and monitor contractor activities.
• Verify risk assessments, method statements, and work permits before work commencement.
• Ensure contractor compliance with site safety requirements.
• Monitor high-risk activities and provide guidance where necessary.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, risk assessments, permits, training records, and legal compliance documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE performance reports.
• Monitor HSE KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement.
