Health, Safety & Environment Specialist

Role Overview

Health, Safety & Environment Specialist at Saudi Arabia Navigation Services. This role oversees all Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Construction projects and programs, with responsibility for facilitating Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance and monitoring unsafe conditions to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for SANS employees within set KPIs, agreed budgets, and adopted policies and procedures.

Role Purpose

To oversee and supervise all Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Construction projects and programs while ensuring compliance with OHS standards, monitoring unsafe conditions and acts, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for SANS employees within established KPIs, budgets, and organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Checks and Assessment

• Develop reports indicating results of all health and safety checks conducted on SANS facilities.
• Provide recommendations for improvement and remedial action as needed following facility assessments.
• Conduct awareness sessions to maximize understanding of health and safety activities.
• Issue safety instructions when necessary to resolve safety violations.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure safety, health and environment standards and processes are met for all facilities.
• Communicate safety highlights to employees as required within concerned geographic areas.

Incident Management & Control

• Develop reports documenting incidents that occurred, the facility location, and the time of occurrence.
• Propose methods to manage potential hazardous conditions and practices in systems, equipment, facilities or processes.
• Conduct investigation processes when incidents occur.

Compliance Control & Management

• Ensure all facilities comply with all health and safety regulations.
• Ensure all facilities comply with all requirements of the law and instructions issued by the Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) project group.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and the implementation of safety initiatives within SANS Directorates to enhance overall safety of systems and facilities.
• Follow up with concerned departments to resolve failures and problems affecting health, safety and environment.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Support monitoring of day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes considering leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in facility or safety administration.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
