Health Care Assistant - Dubai Media City

Role Overview

Health Care Assistant at American Hospital Dubai, Dubai Media City. This role supports the provision of safe, patient and family-focused quality care within the clinic/department while maintaining confidentiality and contributing to the achievement of Satellite Clinic Operations strategic goals.

Role Purpose

Assist in the daily functioning of the clinic/department in support of patient care. Prioritize tasks to ensure effective functioning of the area while maintaining a safe, hygienic, and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Support

• Demonstrate skills in assessment of patient and family physical and psychological needs.
• Demonstrate skill in coordination and planning of care and prioritize care based on individual needs.

Environmental Management & Safety

• Keep all medical equipment and examination rooms clean and ready for use.
• Ensure a safe working environment through strict compliance with Hospital Policy and Procedures regarding safety, infection and security.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment in accordance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
• Ensure the completion of environmental assessment of the clinic.

Operations & Stock Management

• Ensure clinic stock as per the needs and no expired items.

Compliance & Professional Development

• Ensure the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) and Mandatory Education are completed within the time frame.

Additional Duties

• Perform additional duties as specified by the Senior Staff Nurse or Clinic/Nurse Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of nine (9) years of basic education with eighteen (18) months to two (2) years of Nurse Training, or a minimum of twelve (12) years of basic education with one (1) year of Nurse Training and six (6) months Health Care Assistant certification course.
• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a nursing assistant.

Skills & Competencies

• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Arabic speaker is desirable.
• Heart Saver/Basic Life Support certification.
