Role Overview

Head - Smart Solution at DP World. This role oversees planning, execution, and delivery of smart technology projects across the portfolio.

Role Purpose

Lead the end-to-end delivery of all Smart Solution projects to ensure on-time, on-budget completion within approved scope. Establish operational excellence, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction across a portfolio of AV/ELV technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Control

• Oversee planning, execution, and closure of all projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to approved scope.
• Approve project schedules, methodologies, delivery strategies, and control frameworks across the portfolio.
• Implement standardized project controls, best practices, and lessons learned to drive efficiency and consistency.

Financial & Commercial Management

• Own cost control, margin protection, cash flow, forecasting, and budget vs. actual performance with Project Managers.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks, manage variations, and support invoicing and claims approvals.

Resources & Procurement

• Plan, approve, and optimize manpower, subcontractors, and technical resources with the correct skill mix and utilization.
• Ensure timely, compliant procurement while monitoring vendor performance, delivery schedules, and scope adherence.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce quality standards, HSE compliance, authority regulations, inspections, audits, and NCR closure across all projects.
• Ensure consistent quality across all projects.

Operations & Escalations

• Resolve escalated technical, site, and resource issues, providing senior operational direction when required.
• Act as the senior operational interface for key clients and consultants, leading escalations and ensuring satisfaction.

Reporting & Performance Management

• Monitor project KPIs (cost, schedule, quality, risk) and ensure accurate, timely operational reporting to management.
• Implement a digital ELV project control dashboard (cost, manpower, progress, risks).

Leadership & Culture

• Promote a high-performance culture, lead PM review meetings, and support business development with operational input.
• Lead cross-functional coordination and assure implementation of a program management system.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certified PMP (Project Management Professional).
• Previous successful execution of AV/ELV projects with value of 30M to 50M and above.

Skills & Competencies

Smart Technologies

• Strong knowledge of AV/ELV systems including CCTV, Access Control Systems (ACS), Audio/Visual systems, Structured Cabling, and BMS Interface.

Project Management

• Comprehensive knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and associated tools.
• Competency in managing project budgets and resources effectively.
• Project and financial management expertise.

Communication

• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to work with colleagues from the operations department and provide clear guidance.

Adaptability & Leadership

• Ability to adapt within team dynamics and assure implementation of a program management system.
• Leadership and cross-functional coordination capability.
