Head of Retail Business Finance (UAE National)

Role Overview

Head of Retail Business Finance at Emirates Islamic Bank, based in the UAE. This is a strategic finance leadership role serving Retail Banking, Retail Client Segments, and international Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RBWM) operations across the Group.

Role Purpose

To act as the strategic finance partner for Retail Banking and RBWM, delivering financial performance management, governance, planning, controls, and decision-support capabilities while leading a team of finance professionals to ensure consistent application of Group policies and control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Partnership

• Lead all finance activities and provide strategic financial partnership across Retail Products, Retail Client Segments, and RBWM international businesses.
• Deliver timely, accurate and insightful management information to support business performance monitoring and executive decision-making.

Planning & Performance Management

• Drive strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management processes, ensuring clear visibility of risks, opportunities and key business drivers.

Governance & Controls

• Strengthen governance, financial controls and reconciliation frameworks while ensuring compliance with Group financial and accounting policies.

Finance Transformation

• Lead finance transformation projects and strategic initiatives, including planning tools, business intelligence platforms and management information enhancements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified Accountant or MBA with specialisation in Finance.
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience within the finance function of a large banking institution.
• Exposure to Retail Banking and Wealth Management business environments.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of finance, business performance management, strategic planning and financial systems.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead high-performing teams and operate effectively within demanding, fast-paced environments.
