Role Purpose

To inspire, engage, and challenge students in their formative years by creating a nurturing and play-based learning environment. To deliver high quality teaching and inclusive learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and support students' academic, social, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

Academy Vision & Strategy

• Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions.
• Contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the academy's improvement plan and self-evaluation form.

Compliance & Governance

• Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation.
• Adhere to academy policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations.
• Comply with the academy's Performance Management Policy, ensuring challenging annual targets are set.
• Fulfil the role of performance management reviewer if directed by the Principal.
• Comply with the academy's staff dress code at all times, including the wearing of photo ID and lanyard.
• Comply with the academy's computer Acceptable Use Policy at all times.
• Sign out and sign in at relevant academy reception if off site at any point during the normal working day.

Professional Development & Training

• Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety.
• Participate in all training deemed appropriate for the purpose of academy improvement or performance management.

Attendance & Communication

• Attend all staff briefings.

Teaching & Learning

• Teach allocated students by planning their teaching to achieve outstanding progression of learning.
• Create a climate that is conducive for outstanding learning and teaching.
• Identify clear learning objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed.
• Set tasks which challenge students and ensure high levels of interest.
• Set appropriate and demanding expectations.
• Set clear targets, building on prior attainment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor degree and certification in PGCE Education.
• Minimum of 6 years experience teaching Art.
• Teaching experience at UK secondary level is essential.
• Strong experience teaching English National Curriculum.
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
• Experience in an international school is an advantage.

• Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations relating to curriculum, assessment and compliance.
