Role Overview
Greaser/Oiler in the DREDGING ENGINE (UT-DM) department with NMDC Group. This role is based on a dredger vessel and focuses on lubrication and maintenance of the dredger's engine and its components.

Role Purpose
To ensure efficient and reliable operation of the dredger's engine through expert lubrication and maintenance of engine components. You will work closely with the engineering team to keep equipment in top condition and contribute to the overall success of dredging projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lubrication and Maintenance
- Perform regular lubrication of engine components, including bearings, gears, and other moving parts.
- Inspect and maintain engine oil levels, ensuring optimal performance and preventing damage.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, adjusting, and replacing engine parts as needed.
Monitoring and Diagnostics
- Monitor and record engine performance data, identifying any potential issues or anomalies.
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing engine-related problems, working collaboratively with the engineering team.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in emergency response drills and contribute to the overall safety culture on board the dredger.
Reporting and Documentation
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any significant findings to the engineering supervisor.
Optimization and Development
- Work closely with the engineering team to optimize engine performance and implement best practices.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced crew members on engine maintenance practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Greaser/Oiler or in a similar role on marine vessels.
- Valid seafarer's certificate or equivalent, as per international regulations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of engine lubrication and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Basic computer skills for data recording and reporting purposes.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
