Graduate Trainee - Specialist Datacenter at du, UAE. This is a 12-month accelerated development programme for ambitious Emirati graduates ready to launch their career and contribute to the UAE's digital future.
Company Overview
du operates the Data Centre Design and Implementation team, which supervises and implements Electromechanical infrastructure (UPS, DC power, generators, cooling, firefighting, etc.) in data centers and other telecom facilities as per EITC guidelines and datacenter world standards to maintain robust and reliable telecom infrastructure.
Role Purpose
Support the Data Centre Design and Implementation team in coordinating, designing, and implementing Electrical & Mechanical infrastructure for data centers and telecommunications facilities in accordance with EITC design standards. Provide full technical support to team members and on-site personnel to ensure quality of installations and meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams and departments to ensure Electrical & Mechanical infrastructure is planned, designed, and implemented in accordance with EITC design standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks, resolve technical challenges, and support successful project delivery within approved timelines and budgets.
Technical Evaluation & Design Review
- Conduct technical evaluations of proposed E&M solutions, equipment, and materials submitted by vendors to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Review design documents, shop drawings, and material submittals for various projects, and recommend modifications or improvements where necessary.
- Address technical queries raised by vendors during tendering and evaluation stages, ensuring responses align with established criteria, specifications, and project requirements.
Standards & Documentation
- Provide technical support in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of EITC design standards and guidelines related to data centers and telecommunications facilities.
- Prepare and raise RFQs and Purchase Requisitions (PRs), and follow up on approval processes until Purchase Orders (POs) are issued.
Technical Support & Operations
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams on matters related to E&M systems and infrastructure.
- Support and accommodate day-to-day E&M requirements and operational needs across different departments and project teams.
- Ensure all E&M installations and implementations meet quality, safety, reliability, and operational standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of design tools: MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, AutoCAD.
- Teamwork and cooperation skills.
- Communication skills.
