Role Overview
Golf Operations Intern at wasl (Viya), a leading golf and hospitality management group operating championship golf courses, award-winning restaurants, premium leisure facilities, and digital platforms across the UAE.

Role Purpose
To assist with frontline golf operations and membership services, ensuring smooth administrative processes, excellent member service, and effective execution of club activities and communications.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Services
- Develop and enhance the new Member Welcome package at the Golf Club.
- Assist new members with becoming familiar with the club, staff and privileges.
- Manage the communication and execution of the membership renewal process.
- Develop a complete understanding of membership classifications, fees, programs, club policies, rules and guidelines to answer member and prospective member questions.
- Prepare information for regular communication with all members regarding membership programs, activities and campaigns.
- Record new and prospective members' reactions to facilities and programs so that changes or reinforcement can occur.
- Act as the point of contact and communication centre for all queries relating to member accounts, ensuring prompt and timely closure of all queries.
Prospective Member Engagement
- Oversee the execution and delivery of tour techniques for prospective members that identify their needs so that tours are tailored to showcase those needs.
- Ensure timely mailing and telephone responses to prospective members.
- Be familiar with competitive clubs, their services, pricing structures, and membership programs.
Club Operations & Experience
- Assist in developing and maintaining a club atmosphere that will enhance the club's image and positively distinguish it from the competition.
- Oversee day-to-day operations.
- Work in golf operations as required: starter, marshall, range.
- Assist the club reception team.
- Be part of the duty Manager Roster.
Events & Activities
- Assist with plans for all social activities, new member evenings, and Club nights.
- Assist with members' golf events, prize giving, preparations and press releases.
- Assist as required with corporate golf days as directed by DOG.
- Attend and participate in major golf event prize presentations and various evening functions.
Reporting & Communication
- Submit weekly reports for management meetings.
- Prepare minutes of the MCC meetings.
- Prepare membership feedback reports.
- Prepare night golf finance and promotion reports.
- Continuously check that the members zone is accurate and up to date.
- Handle private taxi operators and ensure that issues and timings are taken care of.
Quality & Standards
- Comply with standards within the Quality Policy document and Club's Operations Manual.
- Achieve quality goals and comply with the statement of values.
- Actively participate in the Club ISO Quality Management Certification process.
- Be aware of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values and adopt the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.
Volunteer Programs
- Assist with volunteer programs for ODDC and ODLM.
Performance Monitoring
- Ensure 59club results are monitored and service levels achieved in membership and golf operations.
Information Security
- Read, understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl.
- Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
- Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
- Immediately report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, and incidents (actual or suspected) to the IT Service Desk.
Qualifications & Experience
- University or Diploma holder in sports-related field.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar position.
- Thorough knowledge of golf; PGA Golf Professional certification is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Effective complaint handling and very good listening skills.
- Sales and marketing experience with high-end/luxury, expensive products.
- Bubbly personality and public speaker.
- Presentable, flexible and friendly attitude.
Additional Information
Reports to the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Services Manager.
