Global Assistant Manager - Business Analyst (Maternity Cover)

Role Overview

Global Assistant Manager - Business Analyst (Maternity Cover) at DP World. This is a maternity cover position working with the Business Intelligence team across head office, regional offices, and terminal locations globally.

Role Purpose

Work closely with DP World Business Intelligence, operations, and commercial teams to gather, organize, validate, and present accurate business insights that improve operational processes and customer understanding. Assist in new business modeling and planning while developing creative solutions to complex information delivery challenges across a global port operator and its group of companies.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence Solutions & Development

• Develop business intelligence solutions through knowledge of user needs, appropriate data repositories, business intelligence development best practices, and innovative use of technologies and systems.
• Develop reporting and analytics solutions using SAP Business Objects, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
• Deliver ad-hoc data and report requests.

Data Management & Analytics

• Analyze data needs for both users and projects.
• Investigate and analyze data discrepancies.
• Utilize knowledge of container operations Key Performance Indicators to analyze performance, identify trends and correlations, and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct research on Business Intelligence market updates and best practices, ensuring the latest approaches are applied and communicated to all users and stakeholders.

System Administration & Support

• Administer analytics and reporting systems.
• Monitor system performance.
• Create and maintain user documentation.
• Provide system support to users in head office, regional offices, and business units.

Project Management & Training

• Utilize project management techniques for business intelligence projects and services.
• Create content, plan, and conduct training sessions for terminal user groups, primarily overseas.

Communications & Reporting

• Produce and circulate monthly newsletters among users and stakeholders, including project highlights, updates, implementation progress, guidelines, and Business Intelligence news.

Business Development

• Perform business development modeling of new terminals and expansions.

Organizational & Conduct

• Understand and adhere to DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World, promoting positive behaviors in harmony with DP World's principles, values, and culture.
• Ensure the highest level of safety is applied in all activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5 years' experience in the analysis of business processes and interfaces, including container terminal operations, terminal operating systems (Navis, OPUS, Zodiac, RBS, etc.), interpreting system documentation, data and business process modeling, and data flow and context diagramming.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Business Intelligence reports using SAP or comparable Business Intelligence applications.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent analytical skills.
• Proficiency with relational database concepts and report writing tools.
• Understanding of Container Terminal Planning and Operations processes, standards, and procedures.
• Understanding of Operational and Commercial KPIs and definitions.
• Understanding of Port Terminal operating systems, applications, and terminology.
• Ability to work and communicate within multi-cultural and multi-national teams across DP World head office, business units, and regional offices worldwide.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Competence with mainstream office automation, project management, presentation, and communications tools.
