Role Overview
Gear Box Field Specialist at Baker Hughes, Industrial & Energy Technology business. Based at the Baker Hughes plant in Dammam, with travel throughout Saudi Arabia and worldwide deployment.

Role Purpose
Perform maintenance and inspection operations on gearboxes at customer sites around the world. Diagnose equipment conditions, execute mechanical repairs, supervise technical work, and deliver post-intervention documentation to ensure operational continuity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Diagnostics
- Communicate with customers to determine their needs and performing inspections or repairs.
- Perform vibration checks.
- Inspect gears and auxiliary components (pumps, couplings, etc.).
On-Site Mechanical Operations
- Perform mechanical activities on site, either alone or with the customer's employees.
- Replace parts in LUFKIN Gears or competitor gearboxes, as well as bearings or bushings.
- Recondition LUFKIN gearboxes or those of competitors.
- Resolve malfunctions or emergencies as needed.
Supervision & Reporting
- Supervise repairs and technical improvements.
- Supervise and direct on-site teams (e.g., client subcontractors).
- Prepare post-intervention reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Field.
- 2 to 6 years of experience in Rotating Equipment, Turbines, or Gearbox from Oil and Gas Domain.
Skills & Competencies
- Bilingual (Arabic/English).
- Rigorous, organized, and methodical approach to work.
- Autonomous and able to take initiative.
- Ability to work in difficult conditions (climate, dust).
Additional Information
- Open to work in Baker Hughes plant in Dammam with travel involved in certain parts of Saudi Arabia.
- Able to travel worldwide 80% of the time.
- Able to work occasional overtime.
