Role Overview
FSTD Simulator Technician II - Floater at CAE, operating as a floating resource across multiple company sites within the UAE.

Role Purpose
Maintain and support state-of-the-art simulators in naval and air domains across multiple UAE sites. Operate as a floating resource providing flexible technical coverage, operational continuity, and surge support in response to business demands.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Diagnose and correct routine problems on simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
- Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
- Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
Inspection & Testing
- Perform pre and post training session checks on all simulators.
- Perform visual alignments.
- Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results if required.
Training & Development
- Train technicians in basic skills.
- Complete all designated training activities.
- Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
Documentation & Compliance
- Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
- Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
- Ensure consistent technical standards, documentation, and maintenance practices across supported sites.
- Adapt quickly to site-specific procedures, customer requirements, and simulator configurations while maintaining compliance with CAE quality and safety standards.
Customer & Operational Support
- Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
- Perform administrative tasks as required.
- Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct simulator experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot to system level on at least multiple types of simulators.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance, pre and post training checks on any simulator in the fleet.
- Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustment and set-ups on at least 1 type of visual system.
- Ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in using all types of test equipment.
- Ability to use and interpret all diagnostics available on multiple types of simulators.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple sites, teams, and simulator configurations with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
- Fluency in English.
Additional Information
Contract & Location
- Position Type: Regular
- Location: Multiple sites within the UAE
Travel & Schedule
- Frequent travelling within the UAE to different locations and abroad.
- Short notice deployment required.
- Shift and overtime working required.
- Must be comfortable spending nights away from home with trips that could last several weeks.
- Coverage across 3 different sites.
- Site allocations may vary in duration and frequency based on operational requirements.
Requirements
- Valid UAE Driving License.
- Some work involves maintenance and/or replacement of awkwardly positioned equipment.
