Food Services Supervisor (Rations)

Role Purpose

Under direction of the Food Service Supervisor (PIC) and DFAC Manager, supervise and provide oversight of warehouse staff and processes to ensure rations and products are received, returned, and accounted for appropriately while maintaining health, safety, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Supervision

• Direct, manage, and supervise daily operations of the food service stock control room or warehouse.
• Supervise, motivate, develop, and organize warehouse staff.
• Monitor and provide guidance on daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, and team productivity.
• Oversee warehouse and yard setup layout to ensure efficient space utilization.
• Ensure warehouse staff pull stockage and have items ready for the next day's meals in line with scheduled menus.

Stock Control & Inventory Management

• Provide daily guidance to stock control personnel in Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) and inventory control management functions.
• Supervise warehouse staff to ensure all stock deliveries are quality checked and tracked in the AFMIS system and STORES.
• Raise concerns on any discrepancies as soon as possible after receiving goods.
• Provide oversight to ensure all stock items are dated and checked prior to being placed in storage.
• Supervise and monitor returns of any product and associated paperwork coming back into the warehouse.
• Ensure any returns or damages are quarantined in line with company policies, work instructions, and procedures.

Reporting & Documentation

• Reconcile activity records for monthly and quarterly reporting and status reviews.
• Prepare, comply, and submit reports on work schedule, activities, and operations.

Health, Safety & Security

• Maintain warehouse health and safety standards.
• Ensure security of the warehouse, yard, and stock.
• Comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Confer with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and resolve problems.

Additional Duties

• Follow guidance and additional duties assigned by supervisors, managers, and senior management.
• Assist with other job duties as directed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Associate's degree or equivalent trade school completion; one year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
• Must provide a copy of diploma or certificate.
• Three years of experience working in supply, inventory management, or warehouse.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Food Service Food Protection Managers Certification approved under ANSI-CFP accredited programs and/or approved under the Tri Service Food Code guidelines.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must have a valid home driver's license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License.

Additional Information

Working Conditions

• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (hot, dry, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in winter and 130 degrees in summer months).
• Includes some industrial production environment conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working in areas where potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations, including head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
