Role Overview
Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor at Baker Hughes. This role coordinates and oversees field site work, providing quality service to customers and planning for job execution including crew instructions and equipment management.

Role Purpose
Provide technical expertise and on-site oversight for the installation, maintenance, and inspection of Nuovo Pignone Centrifugal Compressors supplied by Baker Hughes, ensuring quality service delivery and safe operational readiness at customer facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Site Preparation
- Unload and inspect Centrifugal Compressors and major auxiliaries at installation sites.
- Place equipment on foundation according to specifications.
- Perform geometric dimensional checks of foundation, equipment, and auxiliary skids.
- Oversee positioning, levelling, and alignment of all equipment.
Maintenance & Field Support
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and craft labour in maintenance of Baker Hughes-supplied Centrifugal Compressors.
- Perform maintenance activities on various types of Nuovo Pignone Centrifugal Compressors including MCL, BCL, PCL, and SRL models supplied by Baker Hughes.
- Conduct minor and major inspections involving assembly, disassembly, checking and adjusting clearances, and evaluating wear and damage.
Equipment Inspection & Evaluation
- Evaluate condition of Couplings (lubricated-tooth and dry-elastic types).
- Inspect thrust bearings and journal bearings of various kinds.
- Assess gas seals (labyrinth and honeycomb types).
- Evaluate Oil seals (gauged floating rings types).
- Inspect Dry gas seals or oil mechanical seals.
- Assess Labyrinth or honeycomb inner seals.
- Evaluate Diaphragms, diaphragm bundles, and volutes.
Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate and oversee work at field sites.
- Provide planning necessary for job execution.
- Issue instructions to crew members.
- Arrange equipment as required for assignments.
Qualifications & Experience
- BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, OR
- Full-time 3-year Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Working experience in Rotating equipment (Centrifugal Compressor - Vertical/Horizontal) in the field at customer sites.
- Prior experience in Installation and/or Maintenance activities of Centrifugal Compressors in the field at customer sites.
