Field Operations Specialist – UAE & Middle East at CHAOS Industries, based in the United Arab Emirates. This is an on-the-ground, hands-on role supporting CHAOS Industries' growing presence across the Gulf and wider region.

Role Purpose

To serve as the in-theatre operational backbone and on-the-ground force multiplier for CHAOS Industries' deployments across the Gulf and wider Middle East region. You will keep systems running, maintain customer confidence, and execute deployments flawlessly while operating with a high degree of autonomy when senior leadership is engaged elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities

Deployment & Field Operations

• Plan, coordinate, and execute CHAOS system deployments across the UAE and wider Middle East from pre-deployment readiness through to customer handover.
• Lead deployments when the senior representative is unavailable.
• Ensure all equipment and systems are in the right place, in the right condition, at the right time.

Technical Support & Systems

• Develop hands-on familiarity with CHAOS hardware and software.
• Set up systems, run configuration, and resolve first-line issues in the field independently.
• Operate competently in Linux terminal environments and with networking fundamentals.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software systems without escalation when possible.

Customer Relationships & Mission Success

• Serve as the customer's most reliable point of contact for day-to-day operational matters.
• Build trusted relationships with military and government counterparts across the region.
• Capture customer feedback systematically and feed it back to CHAOS product and engineering teams.
• Represent CHAOS professionally in the field.

Regional Coordination

• Support demonstrations and coordinate logistics for visiting CHAOS teams.
• Maintain awareness of the regional operating environment.
• Manage in-country administrative and compliance requirements to support a professional, low-friction CHAOS presence across the Gulf.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3 or more years of experience in a field operations, systems support, or technical operations role, ideally within defence, government technology, or a mission-critical environment.
• Proven ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving field environments.
• Experience planning and coordinating logistics for overseas operational deployments, including risk management for personnel and equipment.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
• Military background with operational experience in the Middle East or Gulf region (preferred).
• Previous field service representative (FSR), field application engineer (FAE), or field operations experience supporting hardware-centric defence or sensor systems (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Military Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent operational experience (preferred).
• Experience working with or alongside EDGE Group, UAE Armed Forces, or regional equivalents (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Technical aptitude to set up, configure, and conduct first-line troubleshooting of complex hardware and software systems.
• Comfortable with networking fundamentals and basic Linux environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build genuine trust with military and government customers.
• Clear communication up the chain to leadership.
• Cultural fluency and professional composure in Gulf operating environments.
• Familiarity with radar, RF, UAS, C2 systems, or AI-enabled sensing platforms (preferred).
• Arabic language skills or extensive prior experience working with Gulf defence establishments (preferred).

Additional Information

• Contract type: On-site.
• Travel: Extensive travel across the Middle East region required, up to 50%, sometimes at short notice and to remote locations.

• Salary Range: 60,000–80,000 GBP.
