Role Overview
Star is seeking a Female Private English Tutor to provide full-time academic support to a student studying at Key Stages 3 and 4 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering personalised, structured, and engaging English tuition aligned with the British curriculum.
Role Purpose
To deliver high-quality one-to-one English instruction to a student at KS3 and KS4 level, strengthening subject knowledge, developing confidence and independence, and preparing them effectively for GCSE or IGCSE examinations. This is a discreet private appointment requiring a professional, adaptable, and student-centred educator who can work collaboratively with the family.
Key Responsibilities
Lesson Planning and Delivery
- Plan and deliver high-quality one-to-one English lessons.
- Teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4 level.
- Support the student with reading, writing, analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and examination technique.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and encouraging learning environment at all times.
Examination Preparation and Assessment
- Prepare the student for relevant GCSE or IGCSE assessments.
- Assess progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Identify areas of weakness and create targeted intervention plans.
- Set appropriate assignments, revision tasks, and extension work.
Student Development
- Develop the student's confidence, motivation, organisation, and independent study skills.
Record Keeping and Communication
- Maintain accurate records of lesson content, progress, attainment, and future objectives.
- Communicate professionally with the family regarding academic development and priorities.
- Work alongside other educators, tutors, schools, or educational advisers where required.
Continuity and Flexibility
- Support continuity of learning during school holidays, examination periods, and family travel.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent credential.
- Degree in English, Education, or a related subject.
- Several years of relevant teaching or private tutoring experience.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students aged approximately 11β16.
- Experience preparing students for GCSE or IGCSE English examinations.
- Knowledge of one or more British examination boards.
- Strong record of academic progress and positive professional references.
- Experience working with high-profile, VVIP, royal, diplomatic, or international families would be advantageous but is not essential.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Familiarity with GCSE and/or IGCSE specifications.
- Clear understanding of assessment objectives and examination requirements.
- Ability to tailor lessons to an individual student's learning style and academic profile.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Warm, patient, and encouraging teaching manner.
- Confidence to work independently within a private household.
- Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgement.
- Flexible and collaborative approach to working with the family and wider educational team.

Working Arrangements
- Full-time private teaching position based in Riyadh.
- Consistent academic support around the student's school commitments while remaining responsive to the family's schedule and educational requirements.
- Timetable adjustments expected during examination and revision periods, school holidays, academic transition periods, family travel, and times when additional tuition or supervision is required.
- Exact working hours, weekly schedules, rest days, and employment arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
- Must be comfortable working in a private family environment and adapting to requirements of a full-time residential or non-residential appointment, as applicable.
Travel and Confidentiality
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student's education.
- Must be willing to accompany the family when necessary and provide appropriate academic support while travelling.
- Must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion at all times regarding the student and their education, the family and household, daily routines and schedules, travel arrangements, personal, professional, or financial matters, and any other information encountered during the appointment.
- Must not disclose, publish, photograph, record, or share confidential information without prior written permission.
