Entertainment Technician

Role Overview

Entertainment Technician at Miral Destinations, located in Abu Dhabi.

Role Purpose

To establish and maintain audio, visual, lighting, and technical systems across the park while supporting live shows and events. The role ensures minimal downtime through preventive maintenance, real-time troubleshooting, and collaborative support to production and event teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

• Set up, operate, and maintain audio, video, lighting equipment, and technical operations across the park.
• Conduct daily checks, startup, and closing procedures for AVL and network systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of AVL and network systems in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in real-time to minimize disruption to live shows, events, and daily park operations.
• Support production teams and event sales teams to meet technical requirements and ensure smooth operations.
• Perform corrective maintenance effectively to prevent recurring issues.
• Attend briefings, training sessions, and development programs to promote personal growth.

Quality Assurance

• Follow best practices for equipment setup, operation, and safety in accordance with business safety requirements.
• Conduct quality checks as required by the Maintenance Management System to maintain high standards of maintenance and operation.
• Report any quality issues in a timely fashion.
• Complete and submit all preventive and corrective maintenance checklists to Team Leaders by designated deadlines.

Reporting

• Report all issues occurring during shift to the shift supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Report equipment faults and system faults with troubleshooting findings.

Collaboration

• Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the Entertainment technical team.
• Support and guide team members, including new team members.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with audio, video, lighting, and special effects equipment in a live entertainment or event production environment.
• Electrical, electronics, IT, and IT network experience.
• Knowledge of operating entertainment show systems and show control systems.
• Proven troubleshooting ability.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adhere to strict timelines.
• Ability to understand one-line drawings and schematics.
• Firm knowledge of installation tools and ability to use them.
• Ability to lift at least 25 kg.
• Ability to spend long hours standing if required.

Desirable

• Technical training or certification in audiovisual technology, electrical engineering, information technology, electronics engineering, or related field.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
• Theater background.
• Previous experience working at a theme park.
• Experience operating audio and lighting systems for live entertainment.
• Component repair experience with audio, lighting, and video equipment.
• Knowledge of show, automation, and digital signal processing.
• System integration and design knowledge.
