Role Overview

Entertainment Team Leader at Miral Destinations.

Role Purpose

Lead the Animators team to deliver entertainment programming to the highest standards while maintaining positive workplace culture, ensuring adequate park coverage during operating hours, and supporting the artistic goals and consistent quality of all Entertainment offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead the team in on-the-job training, daily attendance monitoring, grooming standards, coaching, appraisals, and personal development plans.
  • Coach and discipline colleagues in a fair and consistent manner to motivate and improve performance.
  • Assign tasks as required and check on outcomes.
  • Assist in the audition process of potential new hires.
  • Give performance notes as appropriate.

Scheduling & Coverage

  • Assist in scheduling Animators to ensure sufficient coverage in the park during operating hours.
  • Schedule breaks and rotate colleagues fairly to ensure position coverage, increased productivity, and maintenance of colleague well-being.
  • Coordinate vacations and trainings.

Entertainment Operations

  • Assist in the delivery of the Entertainment program throughout the year on a day-to-day basis.
  • Coordinate execution of Entertainment offerings.
  • Support rehearsal processes for new and existing shows.
  • Coordinate special requests and both in-park and outdoor events as directed.
  • Support all Entertainment offerings as required while focusing on the specific section of the department.
  • Call shows and prepare and distribute show reports where required.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

  • Task-train colleagues in the safe operation of equipment and to follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Oversee paperwork, checklists, and documentation relating to offerings.
  • Work with the technical team to ensure repairs are noted, logged, and completed in a timely manner.

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate relevant information through daily team briefings, department noticeboards, and other channels as required.
  • Attend daily park duty manager briefings as per schedule and distribute notes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Higher secondary education or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience working in entertainment in a theme park.
  • Experience in a leadership position or one year of experience in the Entertainment industry.

Skills & Competencies

  • Leadership skills.
  • Customer service.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
