Role Purpose

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the efficient maintenance, repair, and operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. The role supports the Cluster Director of Engineering and Assistant Engineering Manager in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and operational environment for guests and team members while ensuring compliance with company standards, health and safety regulations, and preventive maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities across the hotel.
• Assign, monitor, and inspect maintenance work performed by technicians and contractors.
• Train, coach, and develop engineering team members to ensure high performance and service standards.

Maintenance & Operations

• Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, laundry, and building systems are functioning effectively.
• Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs and ensure completion according to schedule.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and plant rooms.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fire-life safety standards.

Cost Management & Resources

• Assist in monitoring departmental inventory, tools, spare parts, and supplies.
• Support energy conservation initiatives and cost-control measures.
• Assist the Cluster Director of Engineering and Assistant Engineering Manager with budgeting, project planning, and contractor management as required.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption to guests during maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in the hospitality industry.
• Previous supervisory experience in a hotel engineering department preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and workplace safety requirements.
• Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
