Engineering Interface Engineer

Role Overview

Engineering Interface Engineer at HILL International. The role focuses on managing design interfaces and ensuring coordination between design consultants, project management teams, and clients on engineering projects.

Role Purpose

Oversee the performance and compliance of design consultants, manage engineering information flow between stakeholders, and ensure design correctness, completeness, and alignment with project scope and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Monitor the performance of Design Consultant(s) to ensure design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
• Identify the need for and ensure appropriate reviews and audits are implemented to support assurance of interface management performance.
• Review project design strategy and make recommendations to the client.
• Coordinate with the regional/home office to obtain required technical support to ensure correctness and completeness of the design.

Design Team & Stakeholder Management

• Control and manage Senior Discipline Engineers of the Project Management Team with respect to design aspects.
• Manage the provision of engineering and design information in a timely manner between parties as required to support associated stakeholders.
• Attend all meetings with Design Consultant(s), sub-consultants, and Client's Meetings.
• Proactively support weekly and monthly interface management meetings as required to close outstanding interface issues.

Design Variation & Approval

• Evaluate and endorse variation orders and concession requests submitted by the Design Consultant(s) for Client's approval.
• Suggest alternative materials and systems to improve process design, future maintenance, and construction cost.

Procurement & Compliance

• Assist in preparing a questionnaire for the pre-qualification of design consultants and building contractors.
• Assist in carrying out pre-qualification and recommend a list of bidders.
• Assist, monitor, and ensure timely submittals of all documents from the Design Consultant(s) to all government departments until obtaining final permits necessary to proceed with works until final completion.

General Duties

• Inform yourself of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within HILL International and ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years' experience after graduation.
• Minimum 5 years of design experience related to water and wastewater projects.
• Experience in stakeholder management and coordination.
• Experience in tender document preparation and reviews.
