Role Purpose

Conduct commissioning and testing activities on power plants prior to their operational phase, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards and international requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Testing and Functional Activities

• Execute site testing and commissioning activities for power plants and substations.
• Conduct functional testing according to the specified scheme.
• Test and commission substation equipment, including various types of relays, switchgear and transformers.
• Coordinate testing activities during customer inspections.
• Resolve technical issues arising during power plant testing and site commissioning.
• Adhere to all safety procedures during testing and commissioning.

Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare project and new equipment test reports, including updates and corrections.
• Document non-conformances and troubleshooting efforts.
• Provide periodic reports formatted with details of deviations and execution of planned tasks.

Technical Support and Design Review

• Provide technical support by reviewing design documents before their release.

Quality and Process Improvement

• Initiate continuous improvement initiatives and maintain records in consultation with the department manager.
• Initiate corrective and preventive actions and maintain records in consultation with the department manager.

Team Leadership and Development

• Train subordinates and form teams to execute work effectively.
• Provide leadership, coaching and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
• Delegate assignments to subordinates in their respective areas.
• Ensure fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation.

Delivery and Performance

• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters.

Problem-Solving and Compliance

• Resolve operational problems and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Comply with all related policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies and procedures, and seek automation opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Fresher to 0–2 years of work experience.
