Role Overview

Engineer, Pipeline Operations (Integrity Team - Pipeline) at ADNOC.

Role Purpose

Develop cost-effective and value-added engineering solutions throughout pipeline projects. Implement plant change management strategies in response to changing market conditions. Provide technical expertise and support to project management activities through various project phases while implementing the pipelines document management and control system accurately.

Key Responsibilities

Design Review & Approval

• Ensure that consultants and engineering contractors' designs are submitted in accordance with the scope of work and that facilities delivered to end-users are safe, reliable, operable and maintainable.
• Review and approve design works such as drawings, specifications and other technical documents for pipeline engineering for all types of projects in accordance with the Project plans and objectives.
• Carry out design for in-house engineered works including drawings, specifications, data sheets and bills of quantities to support and implement plant change management.

Engineering Solutions & Coordination

• Develop cost-effective and value-added engineering solutions throughout the duration of projects to improve the quality of the outputs.
• Implement interdisciplinary engineering coordination within the division related to pipeline project work scope to ensure that all company requirements are met.
• Manage engineering documentation through establishing preliminary pipeline route alignments and carrying out necessary coordination with all pipeline departments.

Project Support

• Provide technical expertise to support project management activities through all phases of projects spanning engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning through hand-over of project facilities to the end users.
• Participate in engineering projects related to pipeline, including reviewing tender packages, witnessing commissioning, and following up to ensure timely receipt of commissioning and spares and manufacturers maintenance manuals.

Operations & Maintenance

• Plan and direct pigging operations as per network availability and prepare monthly pigging schedules.
• Liaise with Corrosion Section personnel in routine chemical injection and batch treatment programs in accordance with Corrosion & Inspection guidelines and Operating procedures.
• Audit and review operating procedures and philosophy to ensure capability of network to transport throughput from Fields to Terminal.

Asset Management & Documentation

• Evaluate the asset documents to assist in the implementation of pipelines document management and control system.

Supervision & Development

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Pipelines Engineering with full knowledge of HSE in a plant and pipelines environment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Sound knowledge of international pipeline, corrosion and cathodic protection engineering standards and codes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices and technology trends, especially in pipeline within oil and gas.
• Good understanding of all engineering disciplines, risk management and loss prevention techniques.
• Working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, standards and legislation associated with the inspection of plant and equipment.
• Familiarity with QA/QC systems and procedures.
• Technical ability in understanding codes, standards and inspection methods.
• Knowledge of HSE procedures and practices.
