Role Overview

Engineer II, Rotating Job at Tasnee, located in Jubail.

Role Purpose

The Rotating Engineer must troubleshoot and improve rotating equipment performance, perform maintenance modifications and generic process design independently, liaise with external entities, and lead small teams on minor projects. The role requires the ability to mentor junior staff, supervise their work, participate in work programmes and budgetary planning, and make decisions based on specialist professional expertise supported by strong planning and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution

• Troubleshoot chronic equipment and plant availability issues affecting operations.
• Resolve problems affecting plant performance by forming cross-functional teams and consulting senior staff.
• Lead root cause analysis for major machine failures with proven hands-on skills and case experience.

Technical Expertise & Analysis

• Deliver hands-on expertise in troubleshooting, engineering, and life assessment studies of polymer plant major rotating equipment including extruders and high-pressure reciprocating compressors such as HYPER compressors.
• Deliver hands-on expertise in troubleshooting, engineering, and life assessment studies of turbomachinery major rotating equipment including steam turbines, centrifugal compressors such as MITSUBISHI compressors, and gas turbines such as SIEMENS SGT600.
• Analyze vibration signatures and demonstrate knowledge of vibration analyst fundamentals.
• Analyze oil analysis reports, challenge third-party reports, and conclude results and recommendations.
• Conduct reliability studies on rotating equipment to identify weaknesses and opportunities to increase productivity and availability.

Supervision & Technical Leadership

• Provide first-line supervision and act as technical reference point for Fresh and Area Rotating Engineers and assigned technicians.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise their work as required.
• Lead small teams on minor projects.

Planning & Reporting

• Interpret data to reach optimal conclusions using planning and analytical skills.
• Prepare routine and non-routine reports.
• Participate in work programmes and budgetary planning.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industries.
• CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) certification required.
• Vibration certificate CAT Level II required; CAT Level III preferred.
• MLA (Machinery Lubrication Analyst) certificate Level II required.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of machinery condition monitoring technologies and maintenance philosophies.
• Excellent working knowledge of maintenance and corrective procedures for rotating and associated equipment, specifically centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, turbines, and pumps.
• Strong command of business-level written and spoken English.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
