Engineer I&C

Role Overview

Engineer I&C at ACWA Power in the Maintenance Department. Reports to Section Head – I & C.

Role Purpose

Plan and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly and annual outage and overhauling work activities on plant I&C equipment, working under the direction of the Section Head.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Execution

• Assign preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as directed by Section Head.
• Execute work orders through CMMS (SAP) and coordinate with planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
• Help Section Head Maintenance Manager execute corrective and planned maintenance aligned with annual scheduled maintenance plan.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance staff.

Procurement & Resource Management

• Perform technical evaluation of quotations received from purchase department and recommend appropriate choice.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables ensuring budgetary constraints.
• Arrange strategic spares availability to meet maintenance requirements.
• Ensure effective resource utilization.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records and prepare reports related to maintenance work.
• Compose correspondence related to work.
• Maintain communications and relations necessary to report on status of matters requiring action.
• Ensure corrective action is undertaken.

Process & Procedure Development

• Review and recommend new maintenance procedures and work instructions.

Supervision & Development

• Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of all personnel assigned to the area.
• Identify competency gaps for subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions.
• Carry out annual performance evaluation of reporting employees.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees and evaluate their OJT performance.

Integrated Management System Compliance

• Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated.
• Implement, monitor and report IMS objectives, targets and programs.
• Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of IMS.
• Report IMS performance to management periodically.
• Ensure legal compliance with respect to scope of activities.
• Ensure identification of root cause for identified non-conformances and deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Report deviations in Integrated Management System, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure Legal compliance with respect to their scope of activities.
• Identification, documentation and control of hazards in assigned work area.
• Ensure aspects identified are monitored and operational controls are followed.
• Report emergencies, incidents and near misses.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in I&C Engineering from a four-year college or university (desired).

Experience

• Minimum six to ten years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Twelve years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).

• Knowledge of managing HSE emergencies.
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of Emission Monitoring.
• Ability to lead the maintenance group.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Computer literate and able to use MS Outlook for correspondence.
• Able to use SAP as an end user.
