Early Years Teacher

Role Overview

Early Years Teacher at International Schools Partnership. This role supports preschool classroom instruction and child development in an international school environment.

Role Purpose

To assist the lead teacher in delivering high-quality early years education that prioritizes child safety, wellbeing, and developmental progress while maintaining a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Instruction & Learning

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Prepare learning materials and help set up and organize classroom resources, displays, and hands-on learning opportunities that encourage creativity.
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to children who need extra help with activities or emotional support.

Child Supervision & Safety

• Monitor children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety and promote positive behavior.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by ensuring classroom spaces are clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Assist with sanitizing toys, surfaces, and equipment.

Behavior & Development Support

• Reinforce classroom rules and guide children in developing appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Model respectful, inclusive, and cooperative behavior to promote a positive classroom culture.
• Observe children's development and behavior; communicate concerns or notable progress to the lead teacher.
• Recognize developmental milestones or concerns.

Daily Routines & Transitions

• Support children with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest time.
• Foster independence and consistency in routine management.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the lead teacher and other staff to ensure consistency in teaching practices and childcare.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Educación Preescolar (Lic. Educación Preescolar) or equivalent (required).
• TKT Training Course.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).

• Patience and empathy – ability to respond calmly and kindly to young children.
• Strong communication skills with both children and adults including teachers and parents.
• Teamwork and collaborative mindset with willingness to follow guidance.
• Observation skills to recognize developmental milestones or concerns.
• Creativity and enthusiasm to engage children through play and learning.
• Organizational skills to manage materials, routines, and tasks efficiently.
• Adaptability and comfort adjusting to changes in schedule or child needs.
• Cultural sensitivity and respect for all backgrounds and abilities.
