Director of Safety - Saudi Arabia AOC (GACA)

Role Overview

Director of Safety for BEOND's Saudi Arabia Air Operator Certificate (GACA), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, required management position under GACAR Part 121.45.

BEOND is the world's first premium leisure airline operating an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet. The company is standing up new Air Operator Certificates in Bahrain (BCAA) and Saudi Arabia (GACA).

Role Purpose

The Director of Safety is appointed by and reports to the Accountable Executive. The role exists to own and administer the Safety Management System across the Saudi AOC, lead hazard identification and risk management, ensure safety assurance and just reporting culture, and provide independent safety oversight of all operations and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Management System

• Own and administer the Safety Management System (SMS) across the Saudi AOC.

Safety Oversight & Assurance

• Lead hazard identification, risk management, safety assurance and a just reporting culture.
• Manage safety performance indicators, the safety review board and safety promotion.
• Provide independent safety oversight of operations and maintenance activities.

Regulatory Interface

• Interface with GACA on safety matters, audits and findings.

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory

• Serve full time in the position (GACAR 121.45(a)).
• Qualified through training, experience and expertise in aviation safety management.
• Full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual; must be acceptable to GACA (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).

Desirable

• Recognised safety-management qualification and SMS implementation experience.
• AOC stand-up experience.
• Fluent English; Arabic advantageous.
