Role Overview

Director – Design Standards – Facades & Structures (Stadiums) at Qiddiya Investment Company. This is a senior leadership position responsible for establishing and governing design standards across the company's portfolio of stadium, arena, and major sports infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose

Establish, govern, and continuously enhance the design standards framework for all stadium, arena, and major sports infrastructure projects. Serve as the technical authority for stadium structures, long-span roofs, building envelopes, façades, and spectator venue engineering systems, ensuring all projects achieve world-class levels of safety, performance, durability, sustainability, architectural excellence, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design Standards Leadership

• Develop, maintain, and govern the Sports Design Standards for stadiums, arenas, training facilities, and associated sports infrastructure.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for stadium structures.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for long-span roof systems.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for retractable roof technologies.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for façade and building envelope systems.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for spectator seating bowl structures.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for structural resilience and redundancy.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for building movement and dynamic performance.
• Establish minimum technical requirements for durability and lifecycle performance.

Technical Authority & Assurance

• Act as the subject matter expert for façade and structural systems across all sports developments.

Stadium & Arena Expertise

• Advise on the design and delivery of FIFA-compliant stadiums.
• Advise on the design and delivery of multi-purpose arenas.
• Advise on the design and delivery of athletic stadiums.
• Advise on the design and delivery of indoor sports venues.

Governance & Compliance

• Support project teams through design reviews.
• Deliver independent assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance frameworks are applied consistently across multiple sports assets.

Innovation & Sustainability

• Support innovation initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

• Support project teams through technical governance.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and performance requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
