Role Overview
Director, Corporate Banking at First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi. This role manages client relationships for an assigned portfolio in the Corporate banking segment, ensuring revenue targets are achieved while maintaining client satisfaction and portfolio credit quality.

Role Purpose
To manage assigned corporate banking client portfolios by originating new business opportunities, developing and concluding transactions, and maintaining credit quality while achieving revenue targets. The role requires high internal and external collaboration, including local and international client outreach across multiple time zones, with the ability to drive business and internal processes to ensure rapid approvals.
Key Responsibilities
Client and Market Analysis
- Participate in financial analysis of clients and their respective industries and markets to identify potential opportunities and risks.
Client Relationship Management
- Originate new business opportunities with target clients across banking products.
- Develop Term Sheets, Information Memorandums, and mandate letters.
- Examine and resolve credit, market, and operational risk aspects of transactions in collaboration with products and enablement units.
- Pitch, review, negotiate, and conclude deals.
- Maintain the credit quality of client relationships within the portfolio to an acceptable level set by the Bank's management.
- Achieve individual and team financial performance targets.
- Identify and develop cross-selling opportunities and increase the cross-sell ratio with key clients.
- Ensure Account Plans are prepared and maintained for all key clients.
- Ensure all clients' files and documents are maintained.
- Ensure all credit reviews are submitted on time and agreed conditions are met.
- Maintain a satisfactory audit on the portfolio.
- Maximize portfolio returns by new-to-bank bookings, growing existing relationships, and products cross-sell activities.
Learning and Development
- Attend appropriate on-the-job and off-the-job training programs.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure all internal processes for existing portfolio and new-to-bank clients are met in line with the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Adhere to process KPIs, Operational Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, and Internal Audit requirements.
- Manage and follow up on KYC and compliance requirements to ensure consistency with the Bank's KYC and AML policies and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Day-to-Day Operations
- Assist the Executive Director or Line Manager in day-to-day activities such as client calls and other unit or team activities to ensure continuity of work and delivery of effective and high-quality outputs.
Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet the unit's requirements, policies, and standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 8β10 years of experience in corporate banking coverage.
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Finance is preferred.
