Designer - Babywear

Role Overview

Designer - Babywear at Apparel Group. This position designs assigned clothing and fashion ranges for the babywear category, working closely with other fashion departments using CAD tools and meeting established briefs.

Role Purpose

Create and visualize babywear design concepts using computer-aided design technology, develop product ranges aligned with market demands, and collaborate with buying and planning teams to deliver designs that meet customer needs, market positioning, and price points.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development

• Visualize design ideas and produce designs using computer-aided design (CAD).
• Develop and plan babywear ranges.
• Understand design from a technical perspective.

Trend & Market Insight

• Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends.
• Monitor general trends relating to fabrics, colours, and shapes.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with buyers and forecasters to develop products to meet the brief.
• Liaise closely with buying and planning teams on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure items suit the customer, market, and price points.

Execution

• Multitask and maintain a proactive approach to workflow.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Well versed in latest designing software including Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Technical design understanding.
• Ability to multitask and work proactively.
