Role Purpose

The CSE Engineer provides technical expertise on optimal KONE products to translate customer needs into product-specific requirements. The role coordinates all engineering work until project handover to maintenance, handles order management, and ensures successful implementation of KONE products and service solutions that meet customer contract specifications in a cost and lead-time effective manner while ensuring compliance to codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Collaboration

• Identify the optimal KONE product to meet customer needs for non-standard projects with special engineering requirements.
• Select the correct product platform for the offer and ensure competitiveness.

Product Planning – Costing

• Involve Supply Line, installation, maintenance and project management to understand material and service costs.
• Ensure correct product costings in non-standard cases for both corporate and local materials.

Product Planning – Specifications

• Develop detailed, custom product plans for non-standard cases, collaborating with Supply Line Engineering team as needed.
• Create product specifications for corporate and local materials.
• Perform initial and revised non-standard energy calculations.
• Execute simple traffic analyses.
• Conduct technical site surveys when accountable for overall project engineering.
• Ensure technical content of the order between MS 0b and MS 2z.

Product Planning – Availability and Lead Times

• Coordinate product lead times from Supply Line and local sourcing.

Product Planning – Installability

• Ensure the proposed product can be installed.
• Include cost and work effort impact of installation in product plans, especially for non-standard installation situations.

Product Planning – Maintainability

• Ensure the planned product fulfils the customer's product lifecycle needs.
• Identify possible deviations to standard maintenance methods and facilitate resolution.

Product Planning – Compliance

• Ensure the proposed product fulfils local codes, regulations and safety requirements.
• Verify alignment with environmental regulations.
• Confirm the planned product complies with KONE's Engineering Policy.

Customer Process

• Provide content for pre-booking reviews including technical product specifications, costs, lead times, risks, and verification of technical contract content.
• Execute activities for holistic product planning.

Delivery Process

• Develop layouts for project implementation.
• Analyse change requirements and propose new product design solutions.
• Provide material ordering details and documentation information to the CSE Specialist.
• Supply product-related information to Project Manager, Installation Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.

Knowledge Sharing and Development

• Share knowledge with maintenance as needed.
• Participate in product and new service release information-sharing sessions.
• Provide technical training to Sales, Installation and Maintenance teams according to Front Line needs.
• Offer input to product offering management regarding customization, standardization and interface requirements for the portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience in Elevator Industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; English and Arabic proficiency is an asset.
• Excellent collaboration skills and capability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail; ability to distinguish between important and irrelevant information.
• Ability to work with global colleagues across different time zones, language competences and working cultures.
• Excellent technical understanding of elevators, escalators and Advanced People Flow solutions is considered a plus.
