Role Overview

Cost Accountant - Inventory Control at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Company Overview

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE, set to open in 2027, located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, a beach club, multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

Role Purpose

The Cost Accountant supports the Inventory Control Team by tracking inventory transactions, maintaining accurate costing records, analyzing variances, and providing financial reporting to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across all inventory-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Transaction Management

  • Track and validate inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, and returns.
  • Maintain accurate costing records for all inventory items.
  • Assist in recipe costing and yield testing for items stored or processed on property.

Accounting & Financial Records

  • Ensure journal entries and general ledger entries are posted correctly.
  • Assist in preparing accruals and reconciliations for inventory accounts.
  • Manage ledgers, inventory costing, variance reporting, and reconciliation.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform cost variance analysis and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare daily and monthly inventory and cost reports.
  • Provide financial reports to support management in operational decision-making.

Planning & Budgeting

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to inventory control operations.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and UAE financial regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis.

Collaboration & Optimization

  • Work closely with receiving, stores, procurement, and F&B teams to align costing practices.
  • Implement cost control measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years in cost accounting or inventory control, preferably in hospitality or a high-volume inventory environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification in inventory or cost accounting is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in ERP and inventory systems (e.g., Oracle, BirchStreet).
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic or other languages are an advantage.
