Role Overview

Corporate Tax Director at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Company Overview

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE, set to open in 2027. Located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. The property will include multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

Role Purpose

Manage all tax compliance, reporting, and planning functions for Wynn Al Marjan Island and supporting affiliates, ensuring adherence to UAE Federal Tax Authority requirements and driving process optimization through automation and systems integration.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare and review VAT and income tax computations related to tax compliance and reporting.
  • Prepare and review income tax and VAT returns, estimated payments, extensions, and related workpapers.
  • Prepare tax provisions and review income tax disclosures for financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements and readiness for tax audits and inspections.

Fixed Assets & Depreciation

  • Prepare and review tax fixed asset records of the Wynn Al Marjan resort, corporate offices, and supporting affiliates.
  • Manage the fixed asset depreciation process for tax, including proper capitalization, transfer, disposal of assets, and related reconciliations.
  • Review cost segregation studies for appropriate characterization and classification of fixed assets.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Audits

  • Effectively collaborate with internal departments, both within the UAE and internationally, to gather financial accounting records and serve as a liaison for tax inquiries.
  • Manage audits by tax authorities and assist with external financial audits.

Tax Planning & Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of forecasting and tax planning computations and analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing reports.

Governance & Systems

  • Prepare proper records and documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Lead the identification of processes, systems, and automation solutions that support tax configurations, efficient compliance workflows, and reliable reporting and reconciliations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Accounting and/or Tax.
  • CPA license or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Big 4 firm experience is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with deadlines and reprioritize work assignments as needed.
  • Experience working in a high-volume environment.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
