Role Overview
Controller, Financial at Alfanar. This is a full-time role responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the organization.
Role Purpose
Oversee and manage the financial aspects of the company. Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Budgetary Control and Planning
- Manage the accounts, budgets, and financial activities of different operations divisions to meet the information needs of the company, government, and statutory bodies.
- Direct and coordinate the planning and preparation of annual and long-term capital and operating budgets across departments to ensure alignment with business plans and optimize available financial resources.
Costing and Inventory Management
- Manage functional counterparts in operating units on matters involving cost determination, inventory valuation, cost center labor rates, and distribution of overhead and service pricing.
Fixed Asset and Capital Expenditure Analysis
- Maintain fixed asset records and related depreciation accounts.
- Provide interpretative assistance on proper capitalization and expensing of outlays.
- Ensure appropriate grouping of fixed assets by class and application of correct depreciation methodology.
Forecasting and Profitability Analysis
- Participate in the development of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets.
- Perform variance analysis to compare budgeted figures to forecasts and conduct profitability analysis.
- Consider alternative scenarios and economic prospects to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Supervise the preparation of annual financial statements for the Support Services Division in accordance with accounting standards.
Master Data Management
- Ensure data collection procedures are implemented to gather data from different departments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Confirm all data is regularly updated in the respective accounting IT system.
Cost Control and Performance Monitoring
- Monitor financial performance of assigned areas of activity against budgets.
- Identify areas of unsatisfactory performance and rectify them promptly.
- Capitalize on potential performance improvement opportunities.
Financial Reporting
- Meet the financial reporting needs of the Support Services Division by providing accounting data and financial reports.
- Provide suggestions to facilitate and support decision-making.
- Prepare reports and statistics reflecting charge back, recoveries, deficit, and services charges.
- Supervise the deployment of accounting programs based on approved standard procedures.
- Prepare final accounts and financial status reports of the Support Services Division at year-end.
- Prepare reports on results achieved and deviations.
Business Planning and Performance Management
- Transform corporate goals into actionable business plans.
- Plan, follow-up, and execute annual and development plans.
- Monitor plan performance and initiate corrective actions to strengthen results.
- Provide periodic work progress reports.
- Monitor and control budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.
Human Resources and Team Development
- Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers and develop them into a robust second line of management.
- Recognize low performers and guide them to improve or exit the organization.
- Treat subordinates equally without discrimination.
- Base assessment criteria on performance that leads to planned results.
- Ensure availability of a delegation of authority matrix with sufficient delegations per company policy.
Organizational Development
- Develop the organizational structure according to current requirements and future development plans.
- Ensure job descriptions are available for all job roles and support deployment.
Business Process Improvements
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures.
- Seek automation opportunities wherever possible.
- Navigate IT solutions relevant to the role and business.
- Promote automated systems and foster a culture of full utilization.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field.
- 6 to 10 years of work experience in accounting or finance.
