Continuous Improvement Specialist

Role Overview

Continuous Improvement Specialist at Hitachi Energy Ltd in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

Transform operations into a data-driven, continuously improving environment by identifying inefficiencies, analyzing end-to-end information flows across SAP and MES systems, and driving actionable insights that ensure planning, production, and warehouse activities are aligned and executed without disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyze operational processes and information flow within ERP systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with the Manufacturing Analyst to identify bottlenecks through data visualization and analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Map and analyze end-to-end information flows using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to visualize delays, bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies from sales order creation through final delivery.
• Utilize analytical tools such as Minitab, Advanced Excel, Power BI, and Python to generate insights and sustain improvements.

Key Performance Indicators & Monitoring

• Develop, monitor, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
• Monitor end-to-end factory Key Performance Indicators across Production, Planning, and Warehouse operations with a clear A-to-Z lens.
• Ensure regular tracking and reporting of Continuous Improvement performance metrics and project outcomes.

Continuous Improvement Strategy & Execution

• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies such as DMAIC, DMADV, and 8D.
• Drive process optimization, waste reduction, and cost improvement initiatives across operations.
• Support the execution of Continuous Improvement strategic plans and ensure alignment with business objectives and MTS project direction.
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement through structured problem-solving approaches.
• Ensure sustainability of improvements through standardization and performance governance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality) to implement improvements and standardize processes.
• Support cross-functional alignment and execution by communicating findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed.
• Lead cross-functional workshops to map and analyze end-to-end information flow across ERP and MES systems.
• Strengthen alignment between Planning, Production, and Warehouse functions.

Business Case Development & Reporting

• Develop business cases and financial justifications to support Continuous Improvement projects and capital investment decisions.
• Provide leadership with clear insights and financial justification to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing operations, Supply Chain analytics, Operations planning, or industrial performance roles.
• Proven experience in continuous improvement or operations excellence environments.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, Kaizen).
• Strong expertise in Value Stream Mapping (VSM).

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Expertise in DMAIC, DMADV, 8D, and Kaizen problem-solving approaches.
• Advanced proficiency in Minitab, Advanced Excel, Power BI, and Python.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language.
• Strong data analysis and visualization capabilities.
