Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon

Role Overview

Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Astra ProMed, Abu Dhabi, on a full-time basis.

Role Purpose

Deliver comprehensive surgical and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions within an established healthcare facility, providing high-quality, patient-centered care as part of the orthopedic and trauma team.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Interpret and utilize relevant imaging and diagnostic investigations to support clinical decision-making.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Surgical & Operative Management

• Perform a broad range of orthopedic surgical procedures within the scope of clinical privileges and expertise.
• Manage orthopedic trauma and acute musculoskeletal injuries as appropriate.
• Perform post-operative follow-up and monitor patient recovery and rehabilitation.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with physiotherapists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient documentation.

Governance, Quality & Teaching

• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide supervision, mentorship, and clinical guidance to junior medical staff.
• Participate in teaching, training, and continuing professional development activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthopedic Surgery or Orthopaedic Surgery.
• Eligibility for or a valid DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licence.
• Relevant post-specialization experience appropriate for Consultant level.
• Strong clinical and operative experience in orthopedic surgery.
• Current Good Standing Certificate and verifiable professional credentials.
