Role Overview

Commis II at Emirates Flight Catering. The role is based on-site at Emirates Flight Catering's operation.

Role Purpose

Support senior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and service delivery while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and quality in a fast-paced catering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

• Manage individual products and activities within allocated area as trained and guided by seniors.
• Proactively participate in and support responsibilities of Commis I, including final processing, cooking, dishing and cutting as applicable to the section.
• Familiarize with products, processes, menus, ingredients and equipment in the area of operation to contribute effectively.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure quality of food items received from Commis III are as per specifications.
• Always maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen, storage, chillers and freezers.

Food Storage & Handling

• Contribute in ensuring that food items are stored and handled in a manner as briefed and guided by seniors.

Service & Presentation

• Contribute in arranging and dishing food items according to specified menus in compliance with established Hygiene and Safety Procedures.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any faults or damage to supervisor.

Continuous Improvement

• Share ideas with seniors on ways to reduce costs and expenses in a proactive manner.

Compliance

• Comply with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Senior Secondary School certificate.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in culinary, including any apprenticeship or industrial training.
