Role Overview
Commis Chef at wasl, part of Viya, the UAE's leading golf and hospitality management group. Based in the F&B Kitchen department, reporting to the Executive Chef.

Role Purpose
To deliver outstanding customer service and contribute to team performance by preparing food to high standards, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, and following all shift procedures and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Standards
- Demonstrate high personal appearance standards, always wearing full and correct uniform with good personal hygiene.
- Maintain full and up-to-date knowledge of hotel products and services.
- Handle all telephone calls politely and efficiently, accurately meeting callers' needs.
- Deliver friendly and professional service to customers at the table, positively promoting available dishes.
- Produce food of good quality, taste, and appearance, served at correct temperature and accurately meeting customer needs.
- Handle complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine care and concern.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of your department, its fixtures, and equipment.
- Ensure all legal and statutory regulations and responsibilities are met to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and customers.
Shift Procedures
- Check function sheets for requirements.
- Check duties with senior chef on duty.
- Prepare mise en place as required.
- Prepare dishes as required.
- Take in deliveries.
- Clear down section as required.
- Serve guests at the table.
- Follow department shift procedures to meet financial and statutory requirements and support outstanding customer service delivery.
Quality and Service
- Apply awareness of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values.
- Apply the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.
IT Security
- Read, understand, and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
- Cooperate, coordinate, and share information with Internal and External Audit teams as appropriate.
- Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
- Immediately report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, and incidents (actual or suspected) to the IT Service Desk.
Ancillary Duties
- Participate in various extra activities contributing to individual and organizational growth in line with the Club's continuous improvement efforts.
- Represent the department or group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, or Sport Committee, or on projects.
- Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

Qualifications & Experience
- College or school diploma preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a similar position in a 5-star property for at least 1 year.
- Fluency in spoken English language.
