Role Overview
Commis Chef 1 at wasl, a leading UAE-based hospitality and leisure organisation operating championship golf courses, award-winning restaurants, and premium leisure facilities across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The role is based within the Food & Beverage Kitchen Department.

Role Purpose
To work as part of a kitchen team ensuring quality objectives are exceeded and all food products are delivered to the highest standard, while maintaining brand standards, food safety compliance, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Standards & Food Safety
- Demonstrate high standards of personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with company policy, reporting on duty in correct clean uniform.
- Produce food items to the highest standards as per departmental guidelines and supervisor direction.
- Ensure all foods are served and prepared to correct temperatures as required by club regulations and local law.
- Ensure all food items are correctly labeled and dated in compliance with local law and company regulations.
- Maintain high levels of general cleanliness throughout your designated section, including all equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
- Ensure all legal and statutory regulations and responsibilities are met to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and customers.
Product & Service Knowledge
- Maintain relevant knowledge of club products and services.
- Handle guest complaints or enquiries promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine care and concern.
- Maintain high customer service focus by approaching all duties with customers' expectations in mind.
Shift Operations
- Check function notice board for daily requirements.
- Check duty rota to ensure awareness of duties and any changes.
- Prepare mise-en-place as required to ensure smooth running of your assigned section.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and loading and unloading of daily food runs.
- Clear down and clean section as required at the end of duties.

- Supervise Commis Chefs as assigned.

- Participate in various extra activities contributing to individual and organizational growth as part of the Club's continuous improvement efforts.
- Represent the department or group in various committees, including the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, or Sport Committee, or on projects.
- Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider as required.
- Apply Dubai Golf Mission, Vision, and Values in role execution.
- Apply the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.
IT Security & Compliance
- Read, understand, and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
- Cooperate, coordinate, and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
- Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by wasl IT Department.
- Report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, and incidents (actual or suspected) immediately to the IT Service Desk.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar position in a 5-star property for at least 1 year.
- College or school diploma preferred but not a standard requirement.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluency in spoken English language.
- Excellent communication skills.
Additional Information
- Reports to Demi Chef de Partie or Chef de Partie.
- Supervises Commis Chefs.
