Role Purpose

The Commis Chef produces creative and excellent dishes while maintaining high standards of health and safety. The role exists to exceed and fully satisfy guest expectations, supporting the kitchen team through effective communication, task execution, and reliable performance under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Production

• Produce creative and excellent dishes to the highest standard.
• Perform basic tasks of food preparation and organization in the kitchen.
• Maintain knowledge of basic preparation, presentation and preservation of food.

Health, Safety & Standards

• Maintain high standards of health and safety in all kitchen operations.
• Maintain personal hygiene at all times.
• Uphold basic knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures.

Teamwork & Communication

• Communicate effectively with other members of the kitchen team.
• Receive constructive criticism gracefully.
• Carry out orders from senior kitchen staff.
• Support others in creating excellence in their areas of responsibility.

Operational Excellence

• Remain calm while multi-tasking and carrying out many different orders simultaneously in brief amounts of time.
• Execute responsibilities in a way that ensures successful operation of the kitchen and guest enjoyment.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School degree.
• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage or Restaurant operations role.

Skills & Competencies

• Passion for teamwork.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Knowledge of basic preparation, presentation and preservation of food.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures.
