Role Purpose

To provide comprehensive support to individual pupils and groups of pupils within and outside the classroom, enabling full participation in school activities and supporting their social, emotional and physical well-being while working closely aligned with school core values and regional ethos.

Key Responsibilities

Pupil Support & Well-being

• Provide support for individual pupils and groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable full participation in a range of activities.
• Support pupils with additional support needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and help develop their social skills.
• Provide for pupils' social, emotional and physical well-being.
• Supervise pupils in classrooms and other locations.
• Promote pupils' self-esteem and participate in development of behaviour policy.
• Discipline misbehaviour in line with whole school policy.

Academic Instruction & Monitoring

• Assist in implementation of individual education programmes for individual pupils and groups of pupils and help monitor their progress.
• Provide academic assistance.
• Give group instruction as prescribed by the teacher or provide individual instruction.
• Demonstrate various instructional activities.
• Monitor work assigned by teacher, checking and correcting pupils' work while in progress.
• Keep pupils on task.
• Praise and reinforce pupil achievements and report pupil progress to teacher.
• Check attendance.

Classroom & Administrative Support

• Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
• Prepare and present displays of pupils' work.
• Support class teachers in photocopying and other administrative tasks in order to support teaching.
• Reorganise materials at the end of the day.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Be pro-active in matters relating to health and safety.
• Support the aims of the school and comply with requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation and school policies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum secondary school certificate or Bachelor's degree.
• UAE National.
• At least two years' experience in a school setting.
• English language skills according to the school curriculum.
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
