Role Overview
Chief Financial Officer β Financial Controller (regulated role) at Deutsche Bank, based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This position reports directly to the Head of Finance, KSA and serves as the main registered finance contact point with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

The Financial and Regulatory Reporting division is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of complete and comprehensive financial and regulatory reporting and analysis in line with applicable internal policies and external regulatory, statutory and control frameworks. This role supports the Regional Finance function serving the two main businesses in KSA: Corporate Banking and Wealth Management.
Role Purpose
Provide full-service finance support to the Head of Finance, KSA, acting as the primary point of contact with banking regulators and ensuring accurate financial and regulatory reporting, audit management, and internal controls across the entity.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Liaison and Compliance
- Serve as the main registered finance contact point with SAMA.
- Manage all communication and submissions to the regulator, with the majority conducted in Arabic.
- Liaison with line business management and infrastructure functions to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place.
Audit Management
- Manage external and internal audits of the entity.
- Resolve audit issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate with relevant parties as required.
Financial Reporting and Controls
- Validate and control the month-end close process for both revenues and costs bookings.
- Liaise directly with front office and operational staff and management in Riyadh to ensure relevant bookings are complete and accurate.
- Facilitate month-end balance sheet substantiation (MRP) as secondary Finance owner.
Tax and Regulatory Returns
- Manage regulatory and taxation returns for the entity.
- Review monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns.
Risk Assessment and Product Governance
- Assist in the completion of New Product Approval cross-functional risk-assessment checklists for new product or business implementations.
- Analyse and communicate risks inherent in operational or product booking situations and deliver appropriate solutions.
Additional Support
- Provide onshore KSA coverage for other core Finance roles as directed by Head of Finance, KSA.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in banking and markets finance, with hands-on experience across the functional areas listed.
- Preferably a recognised Accounting Qualification.
- Solid banking and markets Finance experience required.
- Experience in an international or large domestic Banking or Securities working environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluency in both spoken and written Arabic (required for regulatory communications).
- Strong product accounting knowledge for vanilla Markets and Banking products.
- Internal Deutsche Bank core Finance systems knowledge, including SAP, Janus, BCS, and FIM.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to analyse and communicate risks inherent in operational or product booking situations.
- Application skills demonstrating aptitude for change and a hands-on approach.
- Strong inter-personal communication skills to support relationship-building across multi-functional teams.
- Ability to work on initiative.
