Role Overview

C&AFC - Self Supervisory Unit (SSU) Officer at Deutsche Bank, based in the Middle East and Africa region. This is a regulated role; only Saudi Nationals will be considered. SAMA approval must be obtained prior to commencement of responsibilities.

Role Purpose

The Self Supervisory Unit (SSU) Officer operates as part of a private, independent specialized unit reporting to the Head of Compliance/MLRO. The role is tasked with handling requests received from the Special Enforcement Division of the Saudi Central Bank, operating in line with SAMA Self Supervisory Regulations, SSU Regulations and KOPS.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Adhere to internal and external policy and regulation, notably with respect to Anti Financial Crime, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
  • Keep abreast of new rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to Special Enforcement Division regulations, Saudi AML Law and its implementing regulations.

Screening and Enforcement

  • Conduct screening of names received from the Saudi Central Bank's Special Enforcement Division.
  • Receive, review and act upon requests received from the Saudi Central Bank's Special Enforcement Division or local FIU.
  • Perform searches in Client Relationship Management tools including dB CAR and dB CLM Avaloq, with access rights to request block/unblock, prevent dealing and provide statements.

Decision-Making and Authority

  • Exercise decision-making authority over the Business on requests received from the Saudi Central Bank's Special Enforcement Division.
  • Maintain unrestricted access to all information, data, records and systems in the Bank deemed necessary to fulfil the function.

Operational Management

  • Manage day-to-day tasks independently and take full responsibility and ownership thereof.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate management information.
  • Perform any other required tasks.

Support and Monitoring

  • Support the MLRO to implement and execute SSU policies and procedures.
  • Support the MLRO to implement adequate monitoring, research and surveillance tools.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and escalation of issues and/or incidents to the MLRO.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fresh graduate or at least 2-3 years' experience within AML/KYC, preferably within a SAMA regulated financial institution.
  • Saudi National status required.
