Role Overview

Buyer at NMDC Group. The role coordinates procurement activities to meet materials requests in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Role Purpose

Identify and fulfill procurement needs by managing the complete procurement cycle—from requisition through delivery—while negotiating optimal pricing, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring compliance with quality, specification, and timeline requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Requisition Management

• Identify procurement needs and initiate, prepare, and dispatch requests for quotation (RFQ).
• Receive procurement requisitions from stores via purchase coordinator and verify accuracy.
• Clarify end-user queries to ensure the procurement order is placed for the right material or services.

Bid Analysis & Vendor Negotiation

• Conduct bid analysis and prepare purchase orders in accordance with department policy and procedures.
• Negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible pricing and payment options.
• Award and administer supply, services, and orders to suppliers.
• Negotiate fair pricing without compromising on quality of goods or services.

Order Management & Follow-Up

• Follow up on quotations and bids analysis with end-users and order deliveries.
• Work with team members and vendors to ensure adherence to ordered specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
• Assist in purchasing all supplies and equipment while maintaining quality.

Vendor Management & Performance Monitoring

• Constantly monitor vendor performance and update the procurement superintendent for evaluation.
• Manage and develop vendor relationships and broaden the network of existing group vendors.
• Provide internal customers with a wider range of product and service solutions.

Cost Management & Analysis

• Assist in cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction.
• Analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services in routine activities.

Policy & Compliance

• Update procurement department policies, procedures, service level agreements, and comprehensive purchase agreements.
• Promote and ensure compliance with the organization's Health & Safety policies.
• Actively participate in the safety program to achieve a safer working environment; safety participation is a condition of employment.

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare timely and accurate reports in line with narrative reports that meet requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Manager from time to time.
• Perform duties above and beyond the scope of this role due to operational requirements as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Management, Engineering, or equivalent competencies.
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience in similar industries.
