Role Overview

Ball Picker at wasl, operating as part of Viya, the UAE's leading golf and hospitality management group. The role is based at one of Viya's championship golf courses or facilities, reporting to the Facilities Lead or Assistant Facilities Lead within the Facilities Maintenance Department.

Role Purpose

To ensure golf balls are picked from all areas of the field on a regular interval and as required, maintaining the field clear of golf balls to a minimum quantity, and to attend to all other requests as assigned by supervisors in accordance with departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ball Collection & Field Maintenance

• Pick golf balls using buggy with ball picking machine from all areas of the field on a regular interval and as required.
• Carry out regular retrieval of golf balls from the target using buggy with golf ball vacuum machine and ball picking machine.
• Carry out regular monitoring of targets through the Maintenance Monitor for any golf ball jam and remove jammed golf balls from the baffle box.
• Carry out field grooming on regular interval or as required.
• Observe condition of the field turf and report to the supervisor of any discrepancies found.

Ball Processing & Equipment Operation

• Load all collected golf balls for washing into the soaker and ensure proper water and detergent ratio is filled.
• Operate the ball washer and raptor for golf ball washing and segregation of good and faulty balls.
• Ensure the hopper is filled with good golf balls and operate the blower to transfer golf balls to hoppers on upper floors.
• Fill the rolling thunder and fill all bay ball dispensers with golf balls up to the limit line and ensure all locks are secured.
• Record all faulty balls into the record book.

Equipment Maintenance & Safety

• Carry out lubrication of target augers on regular interval.
• Inspect regularly the function and safe operation of all equipment including buggies under jurisdiction and report to the supervisor of any discrepancies found.
• Be thoroughly familiar with all regulations regarding safety at work and observe these meticulously at all times.

Supervision & Operations

• Ensure punctual attendance at work of all employees.
• Ensure cleanliness of appearance and uniform of subordinates, particularly when working in guest areas.
• Participate in Topgolf-Dubai emergency response team.
• Participate in the control of all heat, light and power equipment according to the need and demand of Topgolf-Dubai and external weather conditions.

• Ensure cleanliness at the place of work and on the job after completion of work.
• Demonstrate Dubai Golf's Mission, Vision and Values and apply the 4 Service Targets throughout serving internal and external customers.
• Participate in various extra activities contributing to the growth of Topgolf-Dubai including various evening functions, in line with Dubai Golf's continual improvement and involvement with General Operations.

IT Security & Compliance

• Read, understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
• Cooperate, coordinate and share information with Internal and External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
• Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
• Report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses and incidents (actual or suspected) immediately to the IT Service Desk.

Additional Duties

• Work at Topgolf, which is part of EGC, if required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Facilities Lead or Assistant Facilities Lead.
