Role Overview
Assistant Vice President, Corporate FX Sales β Portfolio Sales β Markets at Citi, based in the UAE. This role is open to UAE Nationals only.
Role Purpose
Sell corporate account services and finance products directly to institutional clients while driving strategic growth in foreign exchange, securities, derivatives, and commodities. Originate and execute meaningful transactions, expand wallet and market share within identified client franchises, and maintain governance standards across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Management
- Sell separate account services or finance products directly to Corporate clients.
- Originate and execute meaningful and landmark transactions.
- Partner with clients to understand their businesses and exposures and provide best-suited sales solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships through value-added service and commercial skills.
- Pursue an entrepreneurial approach to business origination and developing new relationships.
- Understand and analyze clients' businesses and exposures to provide best-suited sales solutions in full coordination with all relevant business partners.
Product & Strategy
- Help the team service clients in the buying and selling of securities, derivatives, FX and commodities.
- Help drive the team's developed strategy across specified product lines.
- Work independently and/or jointly within business product to achieve strategic growth and market share objectives.
- Aid in achieving specified goals in both market and wallet share for the identified client franchise.
- Facilitate proper product deployment based on understanding of client needs through close partnership with other key businesses and functions.
Stakeholder & Internal Collaboration
- Partner closely with other key businesses and functions to ensure proper product deployment.
- Help foster an environment of collaboration through interfacing with appropriate internal partners to enhance share of mind with clients, increase dialogue and deliver on expertise.
- Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Lead strong governance and controls.
- Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
- Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
- Appropriately assess risk and reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Adhere to Policy, apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency.
Team Leadership & Development
- Regularly assume informal or formal leadership roles within teams.
- Coach and train new recruits.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5β8 years of experience.
- Previous experience in client-facing roles with proven track record of growing and maintaining relationships through value-added service and commercial skills.
- An entrepreneurial approach for business origination and developing new relationships.
- Bachelor's degree or university degree or equivalent experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
- Good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
- In-depth disciplinary knowledge and understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function.
