Attending Physician - Obstetrics

Role Overview

Attending Physician - Obstetrics at Sidra Medicine. The role holder delivers high-quality, evidence-based obstetric care, making clinical recommendations and ordering appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics based on patient diagnosis.

Role Purpose

To provide safe, effective, and holistic clinical obstetric services within accepted standards of care, while actively contributing to education, research, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Management

• Assess and reassess inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Conduct ward rounds and document clinical reassessments regularly.
• Deliver high-quality evidence-based care and services within the specialty area.
• Provide effective and efficient diagnosis, management, and treatment of all patients under your care.
• Review results of all investigations regularly and modify treatment as required.
• Accurately document all relevant clinical information in clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to plan effective, safe, and holistic care for individual patients.
• Liaise with colleagues, Allied Health staff, nursing, administrative and support services staff for additional input as required.

Resource & Organizational Management

• Practice appropriate utilization of the organization's resources.
• Support, implement, and follow all hospital, departmental, and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to Sidra's standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
• Adhere to and promote Sidra's Values.

Education & Professional Development

• Demonstrate an active interest in educating and fostering future academic leaders nationally and internationally through active participation in education initiatives.
• Demonstrate commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).
• Keep abreast of current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.

Research & Innovation

• Demonstrate active interest and involvement in research by initiating innovative clinical or research outcomes or collaborating on research projects to support the Sidra vision.

Qualifications & Experience

• MD, MBBS, or equivalent.
• Completion of residency program in Obstetrics from an accredited Western Board.
• Up to 2 years of post-certification or post-residency experience in Obstetrics, research, or education in the relevant field.
