Attending Physician - Obstetrics

Role Overview

Attending Physician - Obstetrics at Sidra Medicine. The role holder delivers high-quality, evidence-based obstetric care, making clinical recommendations and ordering appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics based on diagnosed patient conditions.

Role Purpose

To provide effective and efficient diagnosis, management, and treatment of all obstetric patients under the role holder's care, ensuring safe, holistic clinical services delivered to established standards within the specialty.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Management

• Assess and reassess inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Conduct ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Provide clinical excellence through effective and efficient diagnosis, management, and treatment of all patients placed under the role holder's care.
• Deliver safe, effective, and holistic clinical services within accepted standards of care.
• Regularly review results of all investigations and modify treatment as required.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe, and holistic care for individual patients.
• Liaise with colleagues, Allied Health staff, nursing, administrative and support services staff for additional input as required.

Documentation & Compliance

• Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.
• Support, implement, and follow all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.
• Adhere to Sidra's standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
• Adhere to and promote Sidra's Values.

Education & Research

• Demonstrate an active interest in educating and fostering future academic leaders nationally and internationally through active participation in education initiatives.
• Demonstrate an active interest and involvement in research by initiating innovative clinical or research outcomes or collaborating on research projects to support the Sidra vision.
• Demonstrate commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).

Professional Development

• Keep abreast of current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.
• Practice appropriate utilization of the organization's resources.
• Perform other clinical responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• MD, MBBS or equivalent.
• Completion of residency program in Obstetrics from an accredited Western Board.
• Up to 2 years of post-certification or residency in Obstetrics, or research or education in the relevant field.
