Associate Vice President - Data Governance

Role Overview

Associate Vice President - Data Governance at RAK BANK. This role leads enterprise-wide Data Quality strategy, governance, and execution across the Bank, establishing frameworks and ensuring trusted, accurate, and reliable data across critical domains.

Role Purpose

Drive the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Bank's Data Quality frameworks, standards, and controls. Strengthen data governance to support regulatory compliance, improve operational efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Framework Development

• Lead the development and implementation of the Bank's enterprise Data Quality framework, standards, and policies.
• Define Data Quality KPIs, thresholds, and service levels.
• Identify and onboard Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across business domains.
• Lead the Data Quality roadmap and transformation initiatives.
• Promote Data Quality practices at the point of data ingestion.

Platform & Technical Governance

• Own and manage Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) and associated capabilities.
• Design and maintain Data Quality rules, profiling jobs, scorecards, and dashboards.
• Manage platform deployment, performance optimization, and environment governance.
• Collaborate with Technology teams on infrastructure, access management, and upgrades.
• Drive automation of Data Quality controls and monitoring.

Controls & Validation

• Translate business requirements into effective Data Quality controls.
• Implement validation and monitoring rules across multiple systems and platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis across source-to-target data flows.

Execution & Issue Management

• Monitor Data Quality execution, issue capture, auditability, and reporting.
• Identify, track, and resolve data quality defects and issues.
• Maintain issue registers and remediation tracking mechanisms.
• Drive both short-term data corrections and long-term remediation initiatives.

Stakeholder Management & Advisory

• Partner with stakeholders to validate and approve Data Quality outcomes.
• Act as the primary Data Quality advisor for business and technology stakeholders.
• Work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Engineering, Risk, and Compliance teams.
• Conduct workshops on Data Quality requirements, issue prioritization, and governance practices.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure alignment with Data Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory requirements.
• Deliver executive-level Data Quality reporting and insights.
• Foster a culture of data ownership and accountability across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, or Data Management.
• 3+ years in a leadership or lead position.
• Experience within Banking or Financial Services is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Hands-on expertise with Informatica Cloud Data Quality and Azure-based data platforms.
• SQL and advanced data analysis.
• Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Delta Architecture.
• ETL and Data Integration platforms.
• Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Data Catalog solutions.
• Python scripting (preferred).
• Data Quality frameworks, CDE management, and remediation practices.
