Role Overview

Associate Technical Professional - Civil at KBR. This is an entry-to-mid-level civil engineering role responsible for the study, design, specification, and delivery of services across transportation systems, infrastructure, water resources, and geotechnical projects.

Role Purpose

Under direct supervision, evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to civil engineering assignments. With growing experience in a functional area, assist in designing larger and more complex projects involving conventional plans, investigations, and surveys with precedents established in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Infrastructure Design

• Conduct study, design, and specification of transportation systems including roads, rail, airports, and seaports.
• Support design of bridges and tunnel systems.

Water & Environmental Systems

• Design and specify water treatment and distribution systems.
• Design wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Support water resources and raw water supply projects.
• Apply hydrology and hydraulics principles to project work.

Civil Engineering Support

• Evaluate and select appropriate engineering techniques for assigned projects.
• Apply established procedures and criteria using sound judgment in minor adaptations and modifications.
• Contribute to design of drainage systems and underground utilities.
• Support geotechnical design activities.
• Perform investigations and surveys on conventional projects with relatively few complex features.

Project Impact

• Execute job tasks that indirectly impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
• Knowledge typically acquired through formal engineering education.
